Quest's recruiting process is extremely simple, and very
transparent. It is an opportunity for us to get to know you, and for you to get to
know us. Obviously we will be evaluating you, but you should also come prepared with
your own questions, so you know what you're getting into!

You contact us
in some way (phone, fax, email . . .), and ultimately send us a
copy of your C.V. so we can begin to get to know you a little. ® PLEASE DO resist the
temptation to exaggerate your qualifications. Our minimum requirements include a
thorough knowledge of Windows NT and/or Windows 2000, and at least one additional Microsoft
.Net Server product
. . . but we do not require complete knowledge on EVERY possible
Microsoft technology!
®
PLEASE DON'T
describe yourself as an "expert" on every software package and operating system
you have ever worked with! We will only test you on what YOU say you know, so it
pays to be modest.

If we think there might be a good match, we will quickly invite you in for a
personal interview. This
meeting normally lasts from one to two hours, and will cover your professional
background, your interests, and your desired career path. Here we are looking mainly
for enthusiasm, communication skills, flexibility,
and professional maturity.

If the results from the first interview are positive, we will soon invite you in
for a second (and final) practical interview with a senior associate from one of our three
Service Areas. This session typically lasts from two to three hours, and is
generally designed to test your ability and knowledge.
We believe that each of our three
Service Areas (Consulting, Project Management and Training)
requires a different set of natural abilities, so it is therefore up to you to pick an
initial area of focus. We hereby offer some suggestions in making this decision:
- This choice should be supported by your prior experience and
ability. This will allow you to put your best foot forward.
- Your area of focus should (ideally) be consistent with your future career interests at
Quest . . . although nothing is ever set in stone. We encourage you to take an
active role in shaping your career.
- Our strongest candidates exhibit interest and ability in all three Service Areas, in
addition to superior ability in one area.
About the interview:
®
For consulting you will be given some specific (common) technical problems,
and asked to solve them. You may also be presented with a technical case study.
Here we are looking for a thorough comprehension of relevant technologies
and business issues, and a logical & clear approach.
®
For project
management you will be
presented with
one or more case studies, involving typical project situations. We
are looking to verify that you have a mature grasp of basic project
management methodologies, as well as a strong custom service
focus.
®
For training
you will be invited to give a short presentation (fifteen minutes) on the topic of your
choice. Ideally, it should be on a technical subject matter . . . but here we are
mainly looking for an enthusiastic and clear explanation of the material,
regardless of the topic.
